1. Who We Are
Kínisi is a movement studio management application developed and operated by Lee Moodley, trading as Kínisi Therapy, based in Johannesburg, South Africa. Kínisi is designed for movement coaches, fitness trainers, and studio owners to manage their clients and run functional movement assessments. It is not a medical or healthcare application. 2. Who This Policy Applies To

• Trainers — movement coaches, fitness trainers, and studio owners who use the app to manage their studio and client assessments.

• Clients — individuals whose personal information and movement data is recorded within the app by their trainer.

3. What Information We Collect
Trainer account data: name and email address (login and identification); studio name and logo.
Client data (entered by trainers): personal details (full name, date of birth, gender, phone, email); health background (current conditions, medications, relevant history — collected to inform safe movement programming, not for diagnosis or treatment); functional movement assessment results (FRA Linear and FRA CARs scores and notes); intake form responses and movement goals.
Technical data: device type and operating system; app usage logs (errors and performance data, if applicable).
We do not collect financial information, payment card details, or government ID numbers.

4. Why We Collect This Information
All data is used solely to provide the core functions of the app: enabling trainers to manage client records and run functional movement assessments; generating PDF assessment reports for coaching and programming; and supporting the trainer–client relationship. We do not use your data for advertising, marketing profiling, or sale to third parties.

5. How We Store and Protect Your Data
All data is stored securely using Supabase, hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure, and encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access controls ensure each practice can only access data belonging to its own practice; client data is never visible to other practices or third parties. We follow a security-first development approach — access controls, including row-level access policies, are built into every feature before it is released.

6. Who We Share Data With
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for commercial purposes. Data may be accessed by Supabase (infrastructure provider / data processor, processing only as instructed) and Apple (limited technical data via iOS and TestFlight distribution). We will only disclose information if required by law or valid legal process.

7. Health Background Information
The app collects certain special personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) — specifically health background such as existing conditions and medications. This is collected in a fitness and movement coaching context only, not for medical diagnosis or treatment. It is held by the trainer's studio, shared only with that studio's staff, and never used for any secondary purpose without explicit consent.

8. Your Rights (POPIA)
Under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA), you have the right to: know what personal information we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate information; request deletion of your information, subject to legal retention obligations; object to the processing of your information; and lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za. Account holders can also delete their account and associated data directly within the app.

9. Data Retention
We retain client records for as long as the trainer maintains an active account. Account holders may delete their account in-app at any time; on deletion, the account and its associated personal data are removed. Data can also be exported and deleted on request.

10. Children's Data
The app is intended for use by adult fitness trainers and movement coaches managing adult clients. We do not knowingly collect data about children under the age of 18 without the involvement of a parent or legal guardian.

11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
